Hey guys, first off, I want to express thanks for all the love and support I received from the first post, it truly meant so much to me. I am so blessed that the Lord has given me this platform to share and spread His glorious name. As well, I wanted to say don’t forget to subscribe to this blog, so you get updates when the new blog is being published, and if there is ever any questions/topics/anything at all you would like me to talk about on here, you can leave a comment down below or message me in the ‘Let’s chat” part of the website! Today’s topic is very near and dear to my heart as it is something I have experienced overwhelmingly lately: Praising God in the waiting room.
Some of you may ask, “What does that mean, Barrett?”. The waiting room is when you are waiting on God to give you direction and waiting for Him to send you where you are supposed to be according to His plan. Maybe you just lost your job, and you have no idea what to do next or you are recovering from the loss of a dream, after working consistently for it and it never came true. We all go through stages of our lives where we are waiting, wondering, and some may even say…. lost, waiting for God to reveal to us what He wants us to do. This can be a very frightening time because it is when most people start to question their faith asking, ‘Why God did you do this to me?’' or “Why have you abandon me, Jesus?”. I have been there, and I for sure asked the Lord the same questions. It is difficult for some new believers because they are still learning to trust the Lord. No one ever said following God was easy, but I can assure you here right now, there is no reason/need to question the Savior.
In the book of Mark in the Bible, chapter 4, we are told the story: “Jesus calms the storm”. When the boat Jesus and His disciplines is destroyed in a terrible storm, they began to question Him, “furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”- Mark 4:37-38. “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!”- Mark 4:39. Then the wind died down, it was completely calm, nothing but silence.
He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”-Mark 4:40. Just like that. Three words. In three words, Jesus stopped the storm, He calmed it instantaneously. The disciplines then went on, “They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”-Mark 4:41. Exactly that! How great art Thou that HE stopped the storm with three words that was destroying His disciplines. That HE is so great, that even nature obeys Him. That is because He is not just any normal mortal person, HE is the Savior!
If He can calm a storm in seconds, imagine what He can do with your life in minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or even years. I like to go back to where Jesus, asks the disciples, “Why do you question me?”. This is precisely the question we should ask ourselves, “Why do we question Him?”. I ask myself that question all the time. You see our God, did not bring us this far and did not challenge us this much to forsake us. Our God is the God who walks with us through the darkness to bring us into His light.
So, the question some of you may ask is, “So, what do I do while I wait for Him to open doors up for me?” My answer is this, PRAISE HIM. Praise Him while waiting because He is still just as worthy to be praised as He was before. Our God still has a plan for you and me, He deserves to be praised always because He may not be giving what you want now, but He is giving you what you need. We need to worship Him while waiting because He is always worthy of it all. While praising Him in the waiting room, I advise spending time with Him, dig into His word, spend time in prayer and worship, etc. Be patient in this time and listen to Him: He is always with you, even if you do not feel it, know He is always working in all our lives. He will bring You what or where you need, when it is best because He is an ON-time and wise God, who has a plan so great it is far past our abilities to understand. Psalms 147:5 says, “Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite”: Our God never says no, He says “Not yet” or “There is something better out there for you”. I pray today that anyone or everyone reading this: opens their heart to Him today, that you praise Him while you are waiting on whatever it may be, that Jesus uses this time He is making you wait to grow you and help you. I pray for you to surrender yourself to Him today so He may guide you. I pray today that whoever is reading this; has confidence in the Lord Almighty that He will lead you to where you are supposed to be according to His plan. I pray for you that He opens doors for you; so that you may uplift His glorious name. In Jesus's name, we pray, Amen.
Blessings everyone,
Barrett
